Joseph Oberhansley Killed Ex-Girlfriend, Ate Parts Of Her Brain, Heart And Lungs

Joseph OberhansleyJEFFERSONVILLE, IN – Joseph Oberhansley has been accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death, then eating portions of her brain, heart and lungs.

On Thursday, police were called to the home of 46-year-old Tammy Jo Blanton at about 3 a.m. to complain that Oberhansley was outside her home trying to get in. Officers were able to defuse the situation and get Oberhansley to go home.

Police were back at the home at about 10 a.m. after someone called to report she hadn’t shown up for work. They found Oberhansley inside and acting suspiciously when questioned about Blanton’s whereabouts.

Police performed a quick search and found Blanton dead under a vinyl camping tent draped over the bathtub inside the bathroom. Her body was in the bathtub with portions of her skull had been removed.

Oberhausley admitted to stabbing Blanton to death and “cooking a section of her brain and eating it.” He also admitted to eating her heart and part of her lungs. It doesn’t look like he was lying, either. Police found a “plate with what appeared to be skull bone and blood” on it, as well as a skillet and pair of tongs with blood on the handles and tissue in the garbage can.

An autopsy report would reveal Blanton died from multiple stab wounds and parts of her heart, lungs and brain were missing. Oberhansley was arrested and charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and breaking and entering in the case.

At the time of the murder, he was free on parole for the 1998 shooting death of his teenage girlfriend, 17-year-old Sabrina Elder. His mother was also shot as she tried to defend Elder. Oberhansley then gave himself a partial lobotomy when he put the gun under his chin and pulled the trigger.

While in court on Monday, Oberhausey told the judge they had the wrong guy. His name was “Zeus Brown,” he said adding that he didn’t know how old he is or whether he is a U.S. citizen.

“After you’ve been prosecuting for so long, you think you’ve seen everything,” Prosecutor Steve Stewart said. “… I’ve never seen this.”

I have. Three months ago, in fact. That’s when 37-year-old Gregory Hale murdered a woman he met online and ate part of her corpse. News, Weather

Man On Way To Buy New Truck Killed By Train After His Truck Stalled On Tracks

Bradley BarngroverMORGANTOWN, IN – Bradley Barngrover was killed after his truck stalled on some railroad tracks and was struck by an oncoming train.

Barngrover, 32, was with his 9-year-old son driving to purchase Barngrover’s “dream truck” when his current truck stalled on the train tracks. After getting himself and his son out of the truck, the train hit the vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, the force of the collision caused Barngrover’s truck to smash into him. Barngrover was rushed to Indiana University Health Morgan Hospital where he would die from his injuries.

His son was taken to the hospital where he was treated for pain, but I’m guessing the bulk of the damage that kid will suffer from isn’t the physical kind.

A GoFundMe page has been setup to help Barngrover’s wife and three children with funeral and medical costs. The couple dated for 12 years but just got married last year.

“I still keep hoping to wake up and have my sweet husband laying next to me like he was supposed to for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone for the support, thoughts, and prayers. I know Brad appreciates it as well. He was and always will be mine and my children’s hero.”

What’s odd about this story is that it resembles the plot of a King of the Hill episode. It’s the one where Hank keeps involuntarily crying over his piece of shit Ford Ranger that is ultimately destroyed by a train after stalling on the tracks, moments after he and his young son leave a car dealership.

Amanda Ezra Killed While Vomiting Out Minivan Window

OSCEOLA, IN - Police say 24-year-old Amanda Ezra was killed early Sunday morning when her head struck something after she leaned out of the passenger window to vomit.

According to police, Ezra was riding in a minivan with four other people at around 4:40 a.m. when the freak accident occurred. The mother of three had been drinking at a party and was sitting on the lap of a front seat passenger. When she began to feel sick and stuck her head out the window to throw up, her head struck a telephone pole.

After the accident, the driver and one of the other passengers fled the scene but were apprehended later. The driver, a man in his 20s, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, causing serious bodily injury and leaving the scene of an accident.

“You’ve got a 24-year-old child, you’ve raised to be a young adult and has their whole life ahead of them and it’s snuffed out because of a decision that was made and because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Michelle Lyman, who lives near the crash site. “It’s tragic.”

According to Ezra’s family, she was trying to get her life back on track and had recently enrolled at Ivy Tech so she could eventually be a teacher.

I had something similar happen to a friend of mine. I was driving and he was passed out with his head out the passenger window after throwing up. His head was resting on his arm, which had extended out fully and struck one of those temporary detour barriers with the flashing orange light.

Luckily, all he got was a busted up arm for a week or so, and I got a cool flashing light I put in my room (He swears I did it on purpose just to get that light). But we were just stupid teenagers when that happened. I will never understand why adult parents make these same kind of dumbass decisions.

Baby’s Skull Fractured After Mother Throws Her Against Wall -

Baby’s Skull Fractured After Mother Throws Her Against Wall

FORT WAYNE, ID – Ashley Ann-Marie Walton, 28, is facing battery and neglect charges after admitting she threw her baby against a wall when she could not get the infant to stop crying.

On January 10, Walton called 911 to report her baby girl was lethargic and her face was swollen. She said she woke up to her infant’s cries and found the baby lying on the bedroom floor with her three-year-old daughter standing nearby saying, “ut oh”. Walton sad she thought her older daughter had accidentally dropped the infant on her head.

Walton’s baby was rushed to the hospital in critical condition suffering from a skull fracture and brain bleeding. I’m assuming the injuries were more severe than being dropped on her head, so police decided to interview Walton at the police station. Walton stuck to her original story that she’d called 911 at 12:03 pm, immediately after finding her daughter injured.

Police confiscated Walton’s cell phone to verify her story, and found Walton was more concerned about getting drugs than she was about her injured infant. The phone showed Walton made five calls right at 12:05 pm, but none were to 911. At 12:26 pm, she texted someone in an attempt to buy prescription pills and powder cocaine. She did not call 911 until 12:40 pm.

A few hours later, while Walton was at the hospital, she continued texting the same person to try and arrange a time she could pick up the drugs. One text read, “ok cuz I’m at the hospital with the baby and I’m not trying to be gone long.” Faced with evidence that her story was bullshit, Walton eventually admitted her older daughter was not responsible for her infant’s injuries.

She said she’d been up for three days straight and was aggravated that the infant would not stop crying. So she picked up the infant and threw her against a wall. Afterwards, she changed the baby’s diaper and gave her a bath. She did not call 911 for her infant until 30 minutes after she’d cracked the girl’s noggin.

Walton was arrested and charged with battery and two counts of neglect of a dependent, all felonies. She’s currently in the Allen County Jail.

Woman Accuses Teen Of Molesting Son, Cuts His Penis With Box Cutter

FRANKLIN, IN – Bonita Lynn Vela is behind bars after she held an 18-year-old against his will and sliced his penis with a box-cutter.

According to police, the 35-year-old got high as hell from smoking weed and became convinced that the 18-year-old boyfriend of one of her daughters had molested her 2-year-old son. With the help of two other people, the teen was held against his will inside a trailer for three and a half hours in an effort to elicit a confession.

The man was adamant he had not  molested her son, but Vela was not convinced. She told the teen that she’d ordered a hit on him and that he would eventually be tied to a tree, shot in the head and then left to be eaten by animals.

She then gave the teen a choice: “He would have to choose his life or his penis.” Vela told the teen she might let him leave the trailer alive if he dropped his pants and let her injure his penis. This way “he would have to look at it every time that he had sex in the future.”

Figuring an injured dick was a better alternative than being dead, the teen dropped trou. Vela first tried stabbing at the man’s penis with a fork, but was unable to draw blood. That’s when she found a box-cutter and used it to “cut him deep” before letting him go.

He had to be taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injury and told police he’s still afraid that Vela “will go to great lengths to hurt or kill him.”

Vela was questioned and told police that most of what the teen told them was true, but that she didn’t intentionally cut the victim’s penis. She was just trying to scare the teen and his dick got cut when he knocked the box-cutter out of her hand.

Vela was arrested and charged with battery with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement with a deadly weapon. She’s being being held in the Johnson County Jail on $28,000 bond. No other arrests have been made at this point.

Teen Hero Shot To Death By Friend Who Thought Gun Was Unloaded -

Teen Hero Shot To Death By Friend Who Thought Gun Was Unloaded

NOBLESVILLE, ID - The teen who helped save two children after they fell into an icy reservoir in 2010 was killed after one of her friends carelessly pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger.

Some of you may remember 16-year-old Aubrey Peters. In 2011, the Red Cross honored Peters and her grandparents as a Red Cross Hall of Famers after they helped save two little girls that had fallen through the ice at the Morse Reservoir.

Unfortunately, the teen died after a total idiot pointed a gun at her chest and pulled the trigger. What makes the entire situation more tragic is the person who pulled the trigger was one of her friends who thought the gun was unloaded.

According to court documents, Peters was with friends in a home when 20-year-old Jacob McDaniel grabbed a handgun and asked Peters if she wanted to hold it. When she said she didn’t, witnesses say McDaniel “dropped the magazine from the gun, pointed it at Aubrey, took the safety off, and pulled the trigger.”

Immediately after being shot, witnesses say Peters clutched her chest and asked, “What just happened?” before collapsing. Those witnesses also said that during this time, McDaniel was already trying to come up with a story for police that didn’t involve him admitting he was a total moron.

“McDaniel then stated, ‘The story is the gun fell off the table and went off,’” witness Dajuan Williams told police according to an affidavit. By time police and paramedics arrived on the scene, Peters was unresponsive. She was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Hamilton County Prosecutors have charged McDaniel with criminal recklessness and pointing a firearm. I imagine that these charges will be upgraded in the very near future. He is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail. No word on who actually owned the guns, or if prosecutors plan on charging more people.

This incident is the kind that still gives me a bit of anxiety as a parent; no matter how you raise your kid, you could lose them in a split second because of someone else’s careless action, and there isn’t a damn thing you can do to prevent it.

Man Arrested After He Allegedly Swung Penis At Women ‘In A Rotary Helicopter Motion’ -

Man Arrested After He Allegedly Swung Penis At Women ‘In A Rotary Helicopter Motion’

Indianapolis, IN — Ya know,  the title alone tells an entire story, but since I love you people, I’ve decided to go ahead and elaborate. The 34-year-old gentleman to the left is facing numerous charges after a couple women complained to police that he was “swinging” his wiener at ‘em.

A Metro officer was just kinda driving around doing what officers do Tuesday, when he was flagged down by two women.

One of the women reportedly told the officer that a man approached her from behind (giggity) and grabbed her by the arm. When she turned to look, she noticed the man had his dick out of his drawers and was “swinging it about in a rotary helicopter motion.” How the woman managed to resist jumping on that thing right then and there is a friggin’ mystery…..

The woman also told the officer the man claimed to have a gun and demanded that she come with him. *sigh* It’s like someone ripped a page right out of my fantasy diary.

The man, later identified as Shawn Harvell, began “briskly” walking away when the women flagged the officer down. He brisk walk, police say, quickly became a run.

After a brief foot chase, Harvell was nabbed as he was trying to get into his car. His story, of course, was a little different than theirs. In his side of the story, he was just approaching the women to discuss some kind of financial dispute. Which, by the way, is the lamest fcuking excuse for a public helicopter dick dance, ever. The women told police they were in no way acquainted with Harvell.

He’s been charged with public indecency, resisting law enforcement, criminal confinement and battery. In addition to those charges, Harvell was also ticketed for parking too close to a fire hydrant.

And that pretty much wraps up one of my new favorite stories in the history of stories.

Mom Charged With Attempted Murder After Taping Sock In Baby’s Mouth -

Mom Charged With Attempted Murder After Taping Sock In Baby’s Mouth

BERNE, ID – A woman has been charged with attempted murder after she taped a sock inside her infant’s mouth and then left him in a closet face down.

Earlier this month, 22-year-old Sasha Hunt waited until her husband left the house to tape a sock inside the mouth of their three-month-old son before wrapping him in a blanket and placing him face-down inside a closet.

When her husband, Nathan, returned home 20 minutes later, he asked Sasha if she was ready to go to bed. She said she was, so he went downstairs to turn off the television. That’s when he heard a muffled cry coming from his youngest son’s room. When he went to check, he found that his son was not in his crib.

As he headed towards the cries coming from inside the closet, Sasha reportedly told him to stop. He didn’t, and found his son on the floor of the closet. He immediately took the tape off the baby’s face and the sock out of his mouth. Sasha allegedly said, “that’s not me.” She then told her husband she’d lost control and that her actions “scared her.”

Nathan gave Sasha an ultimatum; either she turn herself in and go to Behavior Health at the Adams Memorial Hospital, or he was going to turn her into the police. She was checked into the hospital an hour later.

Turns out that Sasha has a history of Bipolar disorder related outbursts, and was already on medication to treat it. She had to stop taking those medications while pregnant with their 3-month-old, probably explaining her actions, including some before that night.

Before she force-fed her son a sock, Sasha had pushed air conditioners out of the windows, kicked holes in doors and walls, and physically attacked Nathan. Two weeks before the sock incident, she slipped one of her prescription pills into her husband’s drink without him knowing, telling him it was because “he was too boring.”

But Nathan wasn’t the only one suffering from her attacks. According to Nathan, Sasha was handling their baby too roughly. Bruises were showing up on the baby’s face and when questioned about them, Sasha told him their other child, a one-year-old, was to blame. According to the police report, Sasha then told Nathan she hated the baby and wished he would die.

Police ordered a non-voluntary committal to Behavior Health for Sasha. On Wednesday, she was arrested and charged with attempted murder and neglect of a dependent.

Mental illness sucks, especially when it is not being treated correctly. I hope Sasha is able to get the help she needs, whether that be inside a prison or inside a psychiatric facility. It does seem like this couple were playing with fire, though. She was already being treated for her mental illness, and then immediately has another baby?

Couple Charged With The Murder And Dismemberment Of Elderly Man -

Couple Charged With The Murder And Dismemberment Of Elderly Man

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – An Indiana couple has been arrested and charged with first degree murder and concealing a homicidal death in the murder of a Secor man whose dismembered body was found, well, all over the place.

Rayshawn Lamar Johnson, 23, had the bracelets slapped on Wednesday afternoon by the Indianapolis Police. Following the arrest, he was taken back to Woodford County and charged with first-degree murder. Johnson’s girlfriend, 24-year-old Vishawn Mills was also apprehended by Indianapolis police, though she was transported to McLean County. Her charge so far is concealing a homicidal death, though other charges are possible.

After a torso was found Saturday in the Mackinaw River, police got a tip on Sunday morning, reportedly from a passer-by on an Illinois Route 250 overpass. The tipster was able to provide police with a vague vehicle description, as well as a description of a female possibly involved in littering. I mean, dumping the remains. According to reports, that tipster was actually Mills’ mother.

The pair reportedly took the bus to Indianapolis after chopping the elderly victim up, and told Mills’ mother of the crime. The woman then contacted police, and Johnson and Mills were subsequently taken to the pokey. Authorities from the Woodford County and McLean County state’s attorney offices – as well as each county’s sheriff’s departments – kept details to a minimum.

The victim, who police did not identify but who sources say is 74-year-old Oakley Mitchell, sustained a gunshot wound from Johnson, according to Woodford County State’s Attorney Greg Minger. Minger did not reveal a motive for Mitchell’s going to pieces, but did explain why the two suspects were charged in different counties.

“The elements of the concealment took place in McLean County at the bridge there,” Minger told reporters at a press conference Thursday morning at the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department. “We believe, based on the investigation, the murder took place in Woodford County.”

Police said Johnson and Mills were living with Mitchell at the victim’s home, with Mills acting as a caregiver. So much for her getting a job reference. Johnson is originally from Bloomington but has ties to Indianapolis.

Minger said that the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Woodford County Coroner’s Office were waiting on DNA test results-a necessary step based on how the body was found-to identify the victim. He estimated the results could be made public as soon as Friday.

Johnson is currently being held on $1 million bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mills is being held on $250,000 bond with her first appearance before a judge set for 1 p.m. Thursday.

Two Teens Charged With Brutal Murder Of Elderly Couple -

Two Teens Charged With Brutal Murder Of Elderly Couple

CORYDON, IN – A pair of teens are in custody officially charged with murder and robbery charges after a botched break-in which left an elderly couple brutally murdered.

According to authorities, Austin Scott and Kevin Schuler (both 18) arrived at the home of 57-year-old Asenath “Senie” Arnold and 70-year-old Gary Henderson in the wee hours of the morning last Saturday on a 4-wheeler and entered through an unlocked door.

A friend of the couple first stumbled upon Arnold later on in the morning and notified the police. Upon searching the premises more thoroughly, the police located Henderson in the same bedroom area of the home.

Court records state that both Scott and Schuler confessed to the murders after being arrested on unknown and unrelated charges the same Saturday of the murders. Scott is being held responsible of the stabbing death of Henderson while Schuler is accused of using a “wooden stick with a metal end” to bludgeon Arnold to death.

Items that were stolen included credit cards, firearms, and prescription pills.

Harrison County Sheriff Rod Seelye said search warrants were obtained for the home of the crime as well as another home about 5 miles away. Multiple areas were being searched for discarded stolen items; corn fields, creeks, and the surrounding wooded areas.

Seelye also mentioned that “they had information that at least one of the suspects lived nearby and knew the victims.”

Family members of the suspects were in court Wednesday to hear the charges read against the two teens. The judge then entered a plea of not guilty on their behalf.

Kevin Schuler and Austin Scott

The family of Schuler apologized to the family of the victims in a letter sent to WDRB.

The letter in part reads:

“The family wishes to extend our deepest sympathy, our most sincere apologies & condolences, to each & every one of you for this very sudden, very tragic loss, your family is forced to deal with & attempting to cope with. Our whole family grieves for your family.”

Prosecutor Otto Schalk worked the death penalty into a possible scenario by filing three separate murder charges against both teens.

Schalk mentioned that it was important for the family of the victims to have time to grieve before coming to a decision regarding the pursuit of the death penalty.

“Their focus does not need to be prosecution at this particular point. I want their focus to be on the two really good individuals that are no longer with us,” Schalk said.

Schalk goes on to say the public’s sympathies don’t need to lie with the two teens. ”It needs to be on the two people who are no longer with us,” he said.
